Bench Warrant: A court order authorizing the arrest of an individual for the intent to have them appear in court either in case of contempt or where an indictment has been found or to bring in a witness who fails to obey a subpoena.
BOP: This is the abbreviation for the Federal Bureau of Prisons. The BOP is a sub-division of the United States Department of Justice and is responsible for the regulation of the Federal Prison System.
Business Day: A business day is used to calculate the time for deadlines in filing legal documents or serving a process, etc. Although the definition varies by location, typically a business day is Monday through Friday, represents 8 hours and is from the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Many courts and clerk offices close at 4:30 p.m.
