Tenant: A tenant is an individual who holds or possesses lands by any kind of right or title. The tenant can occupy the dwelling unit for residential or commercial reasons under the terms of a rental/lease agreement held between the tenant and the landlord. A tenant has legal responsibilities but not limited to keeping his/her dwelling in a sanitary condition and paying the agreed upon rent as outlined in the rental or lease agreement.
Testify: Testify is to bear witness; give evidence as a witness. Testifying is the act of providing an oral or written statement in a legal proceeding. The statements are a form of evidence and used throughout the legal proceeding. Generally, the individual testifying makes a solemn statement or declaration of fact under oath or affirmation under penalty or perjury.
